Importance of Wallet Security

Your wallet's security begins with its private key – a unique code that gives access to your assets. Think of it as the master key to your investment safe. Keeping this key secure is paramount, and we recommend several layers of protection:

Hardware wallets provide the gold standard in security. These physical devices store your private keys offline, making them virtually immune to online threats.

For additional security, consider splitting your recovery phrase (the backup for your private key) across multiple secure locations. This way, even if one location is compromised, your assets remain safe. Some investors store portions of their recovery phrase in bank safety deposit boxes, home safes, and other secure locations. Daily Operations and Best Practices

While security is crucial, we've designed the Equiteez platform to make daily operations straightforward and user-friendly. Connecting your wallet to our platform is as simple as clicking a few buttons, and once connected, you can easily view your portfolio, receive dividends, and participate in trades.

For regular transactions, we recommend following these security practices:

  • Always verify transaction details before signing

  • Use hardware wallets for large transactions

  • Keep a small portion of assets in a "hot" wallet for frequent trading

  • Regularly review connected applications and revoke unnecessary permissions

Platform Support and Security Features

While we maintain a non-custodial model, Equiteez provides robust support for wallet management and security. Our platform includes:

  • Real-time transaction monitoring that alerts you to unusual activity. If we detect a suspicious transaction pattern, we'll notify you immediately through your registered contact methods.

  • Multi-signature support for institutional investors or those who want additional security. This requires multiple parties to approve transactions, adding an extra layer of protection for large holdings.

  • Regular security audits of our smart contracts and platform infrastructure. While we don't hold your assets, we ensure that the systems you interact with are secure and reliable.

Remember, our support team is always available to help you understand and implement best practices for self-custody. Whether you're new to digital wallets or an experienced user, we're here to ensure you can confidently manage and secure your investments on Equiteez.
