# Regulatory Infrastructure

Establishing a robust regulatory infrastructure is a primary pillar of the Equiteez and Mavryk ecosystem; ensuring that tokenized assets are legally binding and compliant across multiple jurisdictions. The platform integrates compliance directly into its technical and legal architecture to bridge the gap between decentralized finance and traditional legal frameworks.

#### 1. Embedded On-Chain Compliance (MRC-30 Standard)

Mavryk utilizes the MRC-30 RWA Token Standard, which embeds regulatory requirements directly into the token's smart contract.

* Advanced KYC/AML Integration: Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks are mandatory for all participants. The token contract automatically validates transfers based on investor profiles, such as verifying if they are accredited or institutional.
* Contextual Transfer Validation: The system assesses regional and country-specific rules in real-time before allowing a transaction to finalize, ensuring multijurisdictional compliance.
* Permissioned Environments: While operating on a public Layer 1, RWA tokens function in a "permissioned" manner where only verified wallets can hold or trade specific assets.

#### 2. Legal Structuring & Ownership Frameworks

Equiteez supports several legal pathways to ensure digital tokens correspond to enforceable real-world rights:

* Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs): The most common structure where a legal entity (LLC or Trust) holds the physical asset title. Tokens represent equity or debt shares in that SPV.
* Digital Title Deeds: In progressive jurisdictions like Dubai, the platform can support direct digitization of property deeds on-chain, where token transfer is legally recognized as a transfer of ownership.
* Contractual Claim Tokens: Tokens can represent rights under a legal contract, such as revenue-sharing agreements or loan claims, automated via smart contracts.

#### 3. Jurisdictional Alignment

The platform is designed to adapt to the specific regulatory requirements of major global financial hubs:

* Dubai (VARA): Aligned with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority's framework for Asset-Referenced Virtual Assets (ARVAs), which requires Category 1 licenses and fully audited underlying asset backing.
* European Union (MiCA): Designed to comply with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation for service providers and existing securities laws for tokenized financial instruments.
* Switzerland: Leverages the Swiss DLT Act framework, which provides a clear legal basis for ledger-based securities that mirror traditional financial products.

#### 4. Institutional Security & Oversight

To satisfy institutional standards, the infrastructure includes:

* Fireblocks Integration: Provides institutional-grade, hardware-secured custody and multi-party governance workflows for managing tokenized assets.
* Transparent Auditing: The Mavryk Nexus (block explorer) allows for real-time tracking of asset balances and automated snapshots of all token movements, simplifying the auditing process for regulators.
* Non-Custodial Protection: While compliant, the infrastructure remains non-custodial, meaning users maintain legal control of their own assets without relying on a central intermediary that could pose a counterparty risk.
